There’s no shortage of laid-back merriment to be had on three-and-a-half-mile-long Harbour Island, a sparkle of pink sand just north of Eleuthera. It could be a solo celebration, with a rum-heavy Goombay Smash in hand, at the chic beachside Dunmore Hotel. Perhaps it’s a party for two, crooning “Islands in the Stream” at Daddy D’s Nightclub, which turns into a karaoke bar every Tuesday. Or grab a few friends and charter a boat with proprietor Devon “Daddy D” Sawyer himself, who’s just as good a fishing guide as he is a host.

You can blame all the best things about Briland’s night-life on Daddy D’s. Blame it for its laid-back island vibe nights, its non-stop dancing nights, its Tuesday Karaoke nights and “any reason is a good reason to be at Daddy D’s” nights. Go ahead and blame it for the hangovers and sore-muscle-from-too-much-dancing mornings too if you must. But if you haven’t been there yet, or haven't been back for quite some time, you only have yourself to blame. Better to #blameitonDaddyDs!

We’ve been frequenting Harbour Island for 15 years. All of our family and adult celebrations have incorporated Devon Daddy D Sawyer. Whether it be a poolside DJ party or dancing the night away at DaddyD’s night club, Devon and his staff always make you feel right at home. If you need a fishing guide or a fun night out, Devon is guaranteed to be the King of Fun!

We have been fishing and dancing with Devon for sixteen years.  He has always helped us celebrate our birthdays with the best music and guaranteed fun!  We can always count on him to get the party started!

Devon is a very skilled captain that can put you on the fish.  We have always had a great time and caught lots of fish. He will always go the extra mile to deliver! He has the best music too!

We were honored to be married on Harbour Island and a big part of our special weekend was at Daddy D’s. After the reception, we had our wedding afterparty at Daddy D’s and he made it feel like the entire evening was about us and our guests. Devon not only made our special evening memorable, but our friends and family still talk about how it was a highlight of the wedding weekend. Devon is charismatic, personable, and fun-loving, but most importantly has a big heart.  Daddy D’s is more than just a “place” or a “club” – what makes Daddy D’s one-of-a-kind is Devon and his amazing staff. 

Since then, we’ve stayed in touch and consider him a friend. While we haven’t personally done a fishing excursion with him, we know from other friends and locals that he’s the best on the island so that’s next on our list when we get back there. He’s a true professional in every capacity and has a gift of making everyone around him feel so special. Thank you for making our weekend so incredibly memorable and we can’t wait to return and see you again soon!
